Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services provided by Norfolk Sharpening Services, whether items are delivered to us in person, by post or collection. By submitting items for sharpening you agree to these Terms .

2. Services

  • We offer sharpening services for all items listed on the website.

  • We will use reasonable skill and care when sharpening items, but results may vary depending on the age, brand, condition or prior servicing of the item.

  • We reserve the right to refuse to sharpen any item we believe to be unsafe, excessively worn or damaged, or unsuitable for sharpening.

3. Orders & Payment

  • Walk-in customers: Payment is due in full upon collection of items, unless otherwise agreed.

  • Postal orders and Collection: Payment must be made in advance via the website.

  • Prices are as listed on the website or displayed in the workshop, and may be updated from time to time.

  • All items remain our lien until full payment has been received.

4. Postage & Delivery

  • Customers are responsible for safely packaging and posting items to us. We are not liable for items lost or damaged in transit to the workshop.

  • Return postage will be charged at the rate stated on the website.

  • Once items leave the workshop with a postal service, risk passes to the customer. We are not liable for delays, losses or damage caused in transit.

5. Collection of Walk-in Orders

  • Customers will be notified when items are ready for collection.

  • Items not collected within 90 days may be disposed of or resold to recover costs, unless prior arrangements are made.

6. Conditions & Limitations of Liability

  • Sharpening may reveal defects, cracks, or weaknesses in an item that were not visible beforehand. We are not responsible for such issues or any breakage that occurs due to pre-existing faults.

  • We do not guarantee that an item can be restored to “as new” condition.

  • Except as required by law, our liability is limited to the cost of the sharpening service paid for by the affected item.

7. Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers must ensure items are clean and free from dirt, hair or other residues before sending them. A cleaning charge may apply if items are received in unsuitable condition. The customer will be contacted to discuss a cleaning fee, which must be paid prior to the commencement of any work.

  • Dental instruments must be sterilised and packaged securely to ensure the points are protected.

  • Customers must ensure items to be sharpened are securely packaged to avoid injury to postal workers or staff.

8. Health & Safety

We will handle items with care, but sharp edges are inherently dangerous. Customers are responsible for handling sharpened items safely on collection or delivery.

9. Returns & Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the sharpening, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your items. We may, at our discretion, re-sharpen the item free of charge.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
